NIIT SmartServe, the BPO division of NIIT Technologies, has had an interesting start to 2008. It commenced operations on its engagement with PKL Limited, one of the leading lettings specialists in the UK. PKL, owned by Countrywide plc, offers a comprehensive range of lettings and property Management services through various retail branches in the UK. NSS has partnered with them to support a range of finance and accounting services through a dedicated off-shore team.

This coincided with the successful completion of a 6-month pilot with a $1 billion manufacturing organisation, head quartered in North America. Christened Project Inertia, our customer is a pioneer and world leader in advanced power management technology, from digital, analogue and mixed-signal ICs to advanced circuit devices, power systems and components. A first time off-shorer, NSS is responsible for the returns management process for our customer’s North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific businesses. As the pilot draws to a close, the business teams are working to close a long-term contract.

These developments are a result of NSS’ efforts to focus on the financial services and back office domains. With close alignment with NIIT Technologies and a joint Inside Sales effort, the platform is being set for IT and BPO offerings across our focus verticals of financial services, insurance, travel and manufacturing.
