It’s been an extremely busy and exciting year for the Sales and Marketing Team in the UK. In the past year we have been involved in numerous campaigns to raise the NIIT Technology brand through a programme of sponsored and hosted events, promoting our knowledge of our domain expertise and solution offerings to the focused industries, and involving the practice heads and the Business Development Teams to help us to do so.
In last year, we have sponsored the “NOA Outsource Summit”, “The Future of Air Transport and Air Cargo Summit”, and sponsored the official launch of Mark Kobayashi-Hillary’s recent book “BRIC’s: The Next Decade for Offshoring”. BRICs is the acronym given to the nation states Brazil, Russia, India & China, and latterly we can also consider other countries such as Mexico to be part of this global phenomenon.
One of the significant topics raised at the Outsource summit was the importance of having an exit strategy in place prior to engaging with the supplier. NIIT’s Knowledge Portal provides clients vendor independency; leaving the knowledge in the clients’ control, and the IPR with the client. Having an exit strategy is clearly a consideration for clients when making their choice, and one that NIIT was happy to discuss openly at the forum.
Not only have we been involved in a number of key industry events but NIIT also invited clients along to attend the Six Nations Charity Launch Dinner held in the magnificent Ballroom of the famous Grosvenor House Hotel. NIIT and UK clients experienced an evening with the cream of the 2003 England Rugby Team World Cup winners and 2007 finalists with some clients managing to fit photo opportunities with the Rugby legends.
At NIIT, we are not all work and no play – we’ve just hosted our 2008 Annual Day, an annual get together of all staff and visiting senior management from India. This year, the Annual day was hosted at Ascot Racecourse, with some 300 staff attending. The day comprised of staff awards, and a unique opportunity for key members of staff to enter an NIIT Idol competition – a mix of Pop Idol and X factor! The day provided all with an insight of NIIT's achievements and future plans with speeches from Rajendra Pawar about innovations of the NIIT Group; Arvind Thakur who spoke about NIIT Technologies, their achievements and latest acquisition of Softec in Germany, and UK Business Unit Ravi Pandey, delivered a passionate speech about the UK achievements in the past year.
This financial year will see NIIT Technologies Ltd UK on a busy programme to raise the brand and awareness of its services and solutions through a set of PR initiatives within our sales and marketing campaigns and look forward to updating you next time on how we got on with it.
